The consciousness that holds up
everything we practised in these thirty days
These thirty days were not a treatment. They were a training of consciousness. This last page brings no new tool, only the consciousness that holds up all the ones we already practised, so that the thirty days keep working after the series ends.
The section of the Zohar we worked with across these days describes healing as a movement, not as an event. Something that stood under judgement comes to stand under mercy. It is the same movement at every scale: in the body, when an organ starts receiving again; between two people, when someone gives up being right; inside us, when we stop judging our own lack.
This is why Kabbalah does not separate the healing of the body from the healing of relationships. Both happen by the same mechanism, and that mechanism is what these thirty days came to train.
When we fall ill, the first question is always the same: what do I take, what do I do, how long will it take. Kabbalah works in the opposite direction. It does not begin with the symptom, it begins with the connection that was interrupted.
Nothing we did in these thirty days works like medicine. It works like training. And training has one property medicine does not: it goes on after the dose runs out, as long as we go on.
Michael Berg teaches that almost everyone prays the same way. A person has a problem, comes before the Light of the Creator and asks the Light to come to the problem. Look at the structure: there are three things there. Me, the Light, and the problem.
The real state of healing, like the real state of prayer, has only one participant. When a person reaches the consciousness that all that exists is the Light of the Creator, there is no room left where illness can exist as a second reality.
Michael Berg teaches that at the root of any illness or discomfort lies the soul's desire to leave the body, and that sharing is what gives the soul back its reason to stay. Reading that changes everything that follows, because it changes what we are fighting against.
If illness is the enemy, the only possible posture is despair, and despair is itself a form of disconnection. If illness is a symptom of a connection that narrowed, then there is something to do, and that something is exactly what we practised. Certainty in place of despair is not optimism, it is the correct reading of what is happening.
The portion of Pinchas is the section of the Zohar that deals specifically with healing, with the internal organs and the other parts of the body. When we scan those verses, we are not making a symbolic gesture of faith. We are opening a channel through which the Light of the Creator passes.
It is worth spelling this out, because many people practise without believing in what they are practising: the meditations, the Names and the scanning of the Zohar are spiritual technology, not folklore. That is why the series spent thirty days on them.
These two errors are symmetrical, and almost every student lives in one of them. One side understands everything, speaks beautifully about the Light and scans nothing. The other scans every day on autopilot and does not move an inch.
Rav Ashlag taught this long before us, and Michael Berg insists on the point: a teaching that is understood is not yet a teaching. It only exists once it becomes experience.
Shimon Sarfati, a teacher at the Kabbalah Centre, taught that Chapter 68 of the portion of Pinchas is especially powerful when someone is ill. And he recalled a condition that is easy to forget: meditating for another person is far stronger when we want that healing for ourselves too.
That is not selfishness, it is spiritual hydraulics. A vessel only fills when it has somewhere to drain. Light that comes in and stops in you is not Light received, it is Light dammed up.
The ego has one function, and it performs it very well: to create distance. Distance between me and you, between me and the Light of the Creator, between me and the part of me I do not want to look at. Every judgement widens that space. Every reaction widens it a little more.
This is why Kabbalah treats separation as the root illness. Everything else, including what shows up in the body, is what happens when a circuit stays open too long. Fighting the ego is not an exercise in humility, it is the work of closing the circuit.
Here is the idea that holds up all the others, and that makes these thirty days one single thing. Fighting the ego is not the preparation for healing. It is the healing happening.
And it is also the reason we are here. Each day adds a piece to the puzzle, and the piece is always the same one in a new shape: to shrink the space between us. The more energy and time we invest in raising our consciousness, the faster we will see the change in the world.
If the healing I am looking for depends on the space I keep open with someone, whose name just came into my head?
About this page: this is the closing of the 30 Days of Healing series. It does not correspond to a single lesson. It is a synthesis, written by Thiago Moshe, of the teachings that ran through the thirty days. The sentences in quotation marks are paraphrases, not literal transcriptions.
