"The body is a garment. The soul is eternal."
Today's message is one of the most comforting and strengthening teachings in all of Kabbalah:
You are not your body.
You are the eternal soul that wears it.
The body can grow tired, unbalanced or frail, but the soul cannot be wounded, weakened or diminished. The soul is pure, radiant Light. And that Light is who you truly are. Illness affects the body, but it cannot touch the essence of what you are.
Rav Ashlag teaches that the body is like a coat you wear to walk through this world. You need it, you wear it, you care for it, but it is not your identity. When the coat wears thin or gets damaged, we do not become the damage. We simply begin a process of repairing, strengthening or adjusting the garment, not the soul inside it. Your soul remains whole, complete, untouched.
According to the Zohar, the soul never falls ill. Not for a single instant. The soul is always in a state of perfect spiritual health. When the body goes through illness, that is not the soul failing. It is the soul signalling: "There is more Light available to you. There is something deeper ready to be healed." This is not weakness. It is awakening.
We often say: "I am sick." But kabbalistically, that is not true. The body is experiencing an imbalance. But you, the soul, are strong, eternal and full of Light.
Try replacing the thought "I am sick" with "My body is going through a process of healing." That shift opens a spiritual channel that invites healing in.
The Zohar says healing does not begin in the body, it begins in the soul. When the Light of the soul flows freely, the body begins to repair itself at a level deeper than medicine alone can reach. Your treatment matters. Your doctors matter. But your soul is the true engine of healing. Every moment of peace, love, courage, gratitude and certainty strengthens that engine.
You are not your diagnosis. You are not your condition. You are not your limitations. You are a vessel of divine Light, a soul with purpose, a Spark of the Creator, a person whose presence matters deeply. Your body may be going through a transformation, but you, the soul, stand firm, eternal and luminous.
"I am a soul, eternal, strong, whole. My body is healing, and I am full of Light."
Close your eyes.
Picture yourself stepping out of your physical body for a moment, the way you would step out of a coat.
See your soul, a Light bright, radiant, calm.
Feel how untouched, peaceful and powerful it is.
Now picture that Light returning to the body, filling every cell with healing and balance.
Your soul leads. Your body follows.
